Brushes & Bass featuring Jon DeLucia & Brent Jensen

Brushes & Bass is a “chamber jazz” ensemble led by drummer Greg Williamson and bassist Heather Chriscaden. The group explores the lighter side of jazz texture, featuring new arrangements of music with lots of solid bass walking and brushes tipping. Joining them on this performance will be special guest New York saxophonist Jon DeLucia (www.jondelucia.com) along with frequent Brushes & Bass collaborator Brent Jensen (saxophone). Both Williamson and Chriscaden tend to live in the groove of swing, and in this case have adeptly summoned two saxophonists that thrive in that environment of sound, expanding their concept to “Brushes & Bass & Reeds”. Expect expert playing that is spontaneous and melodically creative, presented in an energetic manner.
